Our geocaching project

2013 Geocaching 2On Monday the 4th March we did a geocaching project. It was a treasure hunt. Every group got a GPS device and it helped us to find the right direction. Our team leaders gave us coordinates to type into the device. On its screen there was an arrow that showed us the way to go.

When we reached the coordinates there was a box with a hint for the next cache. On our way we explored the GrünGürtel, the old airfield “Alter Flugplatz” in Bonames and many parts of the city centre.

After we had found all the caches we met Mrs. Sarah Sorge, who is head of the department for education in Frankfurt. There we had to speak German. Mrs. Sorge asked us what we had done and seen on the day. Then she gave us the coordinates for the treasure. When we found the treasure we found out that it was a cake. We went into the Römer and ate it.

There were some reporters who asked us for an interview. One of the interviews was on TV that evening and can be seen here:

After that we went back to our school. It was a great day.
